Are you passionate about advancing the safety and robustness of artificial intelligence systems, especially in the rapidly evolving field of multi-agent large language and vision-language models? If you are eager to contribute to the next frontier of machine learning research, the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford is offering an exceptional opportunity to join the renowned Torr Vision Group as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant.
About The University Or Research Institute
The University of Oxford is one of the world's most prestigious academic institutions, located in the historic city of Oxford, United Kingdom. Renowned for its rigorous research environment and innovative contributions across disciplines, Oxford consistently ranks among the top universities globally. The Department of Engineering Science, home to the Torr Vision Group, is recognized for its cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and machine learning. The department's collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment fosters groundbreaking discoveries and professional growth for researchers at all stages of their careers.
Research Topic and Significance
The focus of this postdoctoral position is the systematic evaluation of the safety of multi-agent systems powered by large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs). While recent research has made significant strides in assessing the safety of single-agent systems, there is a critical need to understand and address the unique challenges posed by multi-agent environments. This includes evaluating the quality of interactions between agents, identifying potential attack surfaces, and developing robust defensive mechanisms to ensure the safe deployment of complex AI systems. As AI agents are increasingly integrated into real-world applications, ensuring their safety and reliability is of paramount importance to both industry and society.
