In this role, you will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers to deliver strategic, commercially focused advice on complex construction disputes. You will be involved in:
Responsibilities
* Managing large-scale project disputes and high-value litigation
* Acting in arbitrations, expert determinations and Security of Payment claims (including adjudications)
* Handling significant QBCC disputes
* Preparing advices, drafting submissions and evidence, and supporting expert processes
* Advising on contract risk, project strategy and dispute avoidance
* Managing the day-to-day conduct of matters, including liaising with counsel and technical experts
* Acting for a high-calibre client base, including developers, government entities, major contractors and engineering firms
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members as your experience develops
Qualifications
* 3+ years PAE in construction, projects or commercial litigation
* More senior lawyers up to 8 years PAE are encouraged to apply
* Experience from a specialist, mid-tier or top-tier firm
* At Associate or Senior Associate level
* Strong technical ability with a genuine interest in construction and infrastructure
* A commercially minded approach and the ability to engage with clients confidently
* Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and contributing to shared outcomes
Candidates with strong litigation experience from adjacent sectors (e.g. energy, resources or infrastructure) looking to transition into construction will also be considered.
