Details: Shape Canberra’s future by leading the Territory’s land development pipeline.

The Suburban Land Agency (SLA) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Land Supply team as Program Director. This is a unique opportunity to drive the identification, feasibility and planning of future urban development opportunities that will shape Canberra’s growth and support the ACT Government’s housing and economic objectives.

As the ACT Government’s land developer, SLA plays a central role in delivering people-focused neighbourhoods and urban renewal projects that balance social, economic and environmental outcomes. In this senior leadership role, you will lead a complex program of early-stage development initiatives, guiding projects from strategic identification through feasibility, due diligence and planning to enable transition into delivery. You will provide high-level advice to Executive, Board and Government, ensuring projects are evidence-based, strategically aligned and positioned for inclusion in the Territory’s land release pipeline.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams and oversee feasibility, planning and advisory activities across a diverse portfolio of land development projects. The role requires strong governance, commercial and risk management capability, as well as the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across Government, industry and the community.

We are looking for a senior professional with demonstrated expertise in urban development, planning and feasibility, a strong track record of delivering complex programs, and the ability to provide strategic, trusted advice at Executive and Board levels.

If you are motivated by shaping cities, influencing Government decision-making and delivering high-quality place outcomes at a Territory scale, we encourage you to apply.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
