About the role:
VPS 3 Analyst Position is aligned to Wangaratta Family Violence Investigation Unit (FVIU) for Eastern Region, Division 4. The Analyst will provide intelligence support to frontline police and family violence investigators. Analysts assigned to family violence units will be responsible for identifying future risks from family violence perpetrators, assist in the tasking and coordination process of investigations, undertake Proactive scanning and Strategic and Operational intelligence tasks in support of the Family Violence unit objectives.
As the successful applicant you will be actively involved in providing daily intelligence support to members of the
Wangaratta FVIU which covers Eastern Region Division 4 (Wangaratta, Alpine and Moira LGA's).
The Unit operates by a specific charter, which includes all Category 2 offences where family violence is identified to be the determining factor in the commission of the offence.
The unit consists of one Detective Senior Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, four Detective Senior Constables and one Family Violence Court Liaison Officer.

Your duties will include:
1. Undertake the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information in respect of investigations/situations.
2. Prepare high quality intelligence products to inform stakeholders of risks and trends to influence decision making processes.
3. Maintain and develop a strong knowledge base to drive the intelligence process as well as enhance the understanding of the family violence theme.
4. Identify, assess and report on specific targets or target areas.
5. Liaise with and develop a good working relationship with potential sources of information from inside and outside the Victoria Police in order to obtain assistance in the provision of timely and accurate intelligence.
6. Prepare routine management reports, develop and maintain computer-based intelligence applications and holdings as well as manual information systems to assist the intelligence process.
7. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of developments and initiatives relevant to intelligence analysis and intelligence systems and provide input to the development and maintenance of these systems
8. Experience and/or education in law enforcement, criminology, intelligence, psychology, or related fields is highly desirable
As the successful applicant, you will have:
9. Ability to maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
10. Advanced computer skills, particularly in relation to excel and maintaining data entry standards.
11. Proven ability to manage your own workload whist meeting timeframes.
12. Commitment and achievement in meeting a high level of customer service to all clients.
13. Working on your own or with a team to ensure core tasks are completed.

15. Position located at Wangaratta Police Complex, 21-33 Handley Street, Wangaratta, however you may be required to work at other locations within the Division/PSA
