Position

Driver located at Wagga Wagga.

Reporting directly to the Logistics Supervisor, you will ensure the timely and accurate collection of goods from donor properties, clothing banks and stores, which requires you to deal directly with the public and evaluate and decline items that are not in a resalable condition.

Working independently, you will have excellent customer service, communications and problem-solving skills to assist you with the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

- Loading/unloading – loose goods including furniture items
- Performing labouring tasks; with a jockey you will lift and carry reasonable weights
- Distribution of goods to stores and assisting retail staff where required
- Ensuring a professional customer relations experience for our customers
- Using an electronic device to complete delivery paperwork
- Maintaining safe WHS methods and driving practices
- Completing pre-start checks, reporting incidents, near misses and vehicle maintenance issues
- Maintain cleanliness of the provided vehicle

About You

- Previous experience in multi-drop, courier or furniture removal is highly regarded, but not essential
- Essential: MR license, good time management, reliability and a can-do attitude
- You will be well presented, high energy, hands-on and able to provide extraordinary customer service
- Experience in safe preparation, loading and unloading of goods
- Integrity and alignment to The Salvation Army Mission and Values
- Applicants must be able to work with limited supervision
- Minimum 1 year's driving experience operating a medium rigid vehicle
- Current Australian drivers license / Medium Rigid license (or above)
- Confident driving skills and a proven safety record
- Multi-drop, courier and/or furniture removal experience is an advantage
- Reasonable written and oral communication skills
- Organisational and problem solving skills
- Right to work in Australia
