About the Position
The Social and Emotional Wellbeing Psychologist assumes a crucial role in assessing and supporting the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of client behaviour and social-emotional wellbeing through observation, interviews, and psychometric tests.
* Develop, administer, and monitor tailored treatment therapies to address clients' needs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with professional standards.
* Ensure all counselling sessions are recorded in relevant systems and verify appropriate referrals.
* Participate in regular meetings and training to maintain professional development and stay updated on best practices.
This position requires a deep understanding of social and emotional wellbeing within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to holistic and culturally safe care.
The successful applicant will have a proven ability to deliver programs and activities for Aboriginal people and experience in direct care delivery and coordination for mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and community support programs.
A degree in Psychology or a related field is required, along with AHPRA registration as a psychologist. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in using computer software for program data recording.
Essential Requirements:
* AHPRA registration as a psychologist.
* National Criminal Record Check.
* Working with Children Check.
* Immunisation Record; including evidence of Health Worker Vaccinations.
