Job Description
The Materials Controller plays a pivotal role in the management of materials across various sites.
This position involves overseeing the materials control process, including warehouse setup, material segregation, laydown areas, and quarantine zones.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures within the organization's management system.
2. Maintaining effective communication with Logistics Supervisors to inform site teams about hazardous goods shipments and heavy load/heavy lift shipments in advance.
3. Conducting visual inspections of received materials and equipment to verify conformity with shipping documents, certifications, purchase orders, and quantities, as well as checking for visible damage.
4. Accurately recording and processing receipts in SAP/SMAT against Receiving Notes (RNs), keeping electronic files up-to-date and maintaining associated documentation such as packing lists and delivery notes.
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* A relevant tertiary qualification, such as Materials Management or Inventory Control.
* A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably on-site within EPC projects.
* Prior experience in construction/engineering environments.
* Demonstrated practical expertise in bespoke Materials Management systems and databases, particularly in SAP and SMAT.
