About the role
Coldshield designs and manufactures high-performance rapid roll doors and industrial door systems used across cold storage, food processing, logistics and retail.
We are seeking an Industrial Door Service Technician (Electrician) to join our service team, primarily servicing customers across South East Queensland, with occasional travel and overnight stays outside the region.
This role is a mix of:
Reactive and preventative maintenance on Rapid roller doors and industrial roller shutters
Automatic doors
Double action traffic doors
Gates and boom gates
New installations and upgrade work on client sites and projects
You will see your work through the full lifecycle – from initial installation and commissioning, through to ongoing preventative servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
A significant portion of your work is inside clean, temperature-controlled environments, not on hot roofs or in ceiling spaces.
You will also participate in our after-hours service roster, providing support to key customers when urgent breakdowns occur.
What you'll bring
Electrical Trade Qualification or Unrestricted QLD Electrical License
Proven experience with electrical fault-finding on electro-mechanical equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting, including under pressure
Safety-focused approach to all tasks, with a clear customer-service mindset
Ability to work independently or part of a team in the field whilst communicating clearly with customers and the internal team
High attention to detail with consistently meticulous workmanship and presentation
Willingness to participate in rostered overtime, after-hours callouts and occasional overnight travel
Experience with any of the following is highly regarded (but not essential):
Automatic doors, rapid roller doors and roller shutters
Gates and boom gates
Dock levellers, dock equipment or lifting equipment
Structured training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and core skills.
