Wunan Foundation is a 100% Indigenous owned not-for-profit organisation, with a head office in Kununurra. Wunan has been contracted by the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development to deliver the Jobs and Skills Centre services in the East Kimberley region.
Based in Kununurra and reporting to the Manager Employment & Training, the Careers Advisor will assist in the delivery of the Jobs and Skills Centre programs and services in Kununurra and surrounding regions. The right person will have excellent teamwork and communication skills and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Kimberley.
KEY DUTIES
* Actively participate in the day-to-day delivery of the Jobs and Skills Program services, in line with the Service Agreement.
* Ensure that all the elements of job seeker client and employer clients service delivery are purposefully implemented.
* Actively engage with the wider community to facilitate client contact and engagement.
* Actively work with other members of the J&SC team in the delivery of J&SC services and activities to clients.
* Model & comply with workplace policies and procedures, including Health and Safety.
* Record all client service delivery in the CRM database recording system.
Requirements of the role
ESSENTIAL
* Cert IV qualification in Career Advice and Employment Services or are prepared to enrol to complete these qualifications. (Wunan will enrol successful candidate)
* Demonstrated understanding of labour and recruitment markets requirements in the Kimberley region.
* Experience working within contractual parameters and guidelines.
* Experience reporting against project milestones and KPI's.
* Excellent Communication Skills.
* Effective Time Management skills.
* Computer and Administration skills using databases, MS Office applications and internet browsers.
* Excellent Interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively at all levels of the organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
* Demonstrated strong initiative skills with the ability to be self-directing and work autonomously.
* Current C Class driving license.
DESIRABLE
* Experience/ability to understanding working with Aboriginal people.
* Experience driving long distances in remote areas.
* Strategic planning experience for long term outcomes
