About the Role
Are you a passionate and skilled Technical Business Analyst with a knack for understanding complex systems and a drive for continuous improvement?
The Observability Technical Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in maturing our observability capabilities. This is a hybrid role that combines the disciplines of business analysis, project management, and technical consultation, with a primary focus on the Dynatrace platform.
The Observability Technical BA is the central point of contact for our application and business teams, responsible for understanding their monitoring needs, translating them into technical requirements, and managing the end-to-end process of onboarding applications onto Dynatrace. The role directly contributes to improving application performance, enhancing user experience, and reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR) for incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to define comprehensive observability requirements, conduct workshops, and translate business needs into technical specifications for Dynatrace configurations (dashboards, alerting, synthetic monitors, custom metrics).
Project Management & Onboarding: Lead the full lifecycle of application onboarding onto Dynatrace, from discovery to go-live. Develop project plans, manage dependencies, and ensure smooth communication and coordination between teams.
Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of Dynatrace features and observability trends, identifying opportunities to enhance our platform and processes. Gather user feedback to drive ongoing improvements.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar hybrid role.
Proven, hands-on expertise with the Dynatrace platform, including APM, RUM, Synthetic Monitoring, and configuring dashboards and alerts.
A strong understanding of observability pillars (Metrics, Traces, Logs) and experience defining SLOs/SLIs.
Excellent core BA skills: requirements elicitation, strong stakeholder management, process mapping, and technical documentation, strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage small-to-medium-sized technical projects and communicate complex technical ideas to all audiences.
A proactive, analytical, and collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills
Dynatrace Associate or Professional Certification.
Project management experience.
Familiarity with modern technology stacks (Cloud Platforms, Containerization, CI/CD, DevOps).
Experience with other observability tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
Experience in the Retail or Ecommerce industry.
