About the role
The Grounds Minor Maintenance Officer is a hands-on, casual role responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across the City's Swim Sport & Leisure facilities. The position plays a key role in ensuring grounds, plant, equipment and facilities are presented to a high standard and maintained in a safe, compliant environment for patrons and staff, while minimising risk and service disruption.

Key responsibilities
* Deliver planned, reactive and preventative minor maintenance across Swim Sport & Leisure facilities, including aquatic plant and equipment servicing, minor repairs and general building presentation.
* Undertake grounds maintenance activities such as lawn mowing, garden care, planting and minor tree pruning to ensure facilities are safe, well presented and fit for purpose.
* Monitor, service and maintain outdoor pool facilities during off-season periods to support asset longevity and ensure smooth seasonal reopening.
* Respond promptly to maintenance issues and equipment faults to minimise disruption to services and ensure the safety of patrons, staff and contractors.
* Work in accordance with Council policies, Occupational Health & Safety requirements and relevant legislation, proactively identifying and reporting hazards and risks.
* Liaise effectively with Swim Sport & Leisure staff, contractors and members of the public to support efficient maintenance delivery and a positive customer experience.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in commercial pool and grounds maintenance, supported by strong mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving. You will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and committed to maintaining safe, well-presented facilities while delivering high-quality customer service.

* Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
