This is a recruitment pool offering Permanent Full-Time and Permanent Part-Time positions across SOUTH CAMHS directorates [Fremantle (located at Murdoch Hub), Peel and Rockingham]. Fixed Term Full-Time and Fixed Term Part-Time opportunities can also be considered, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

We have 3 Permanent Full-Time vacancies available for Peel.

Position Profile and Role

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health issues.

CAMHS are seeking to appoint board-approved Clinical Psychologist Registrars who can provide clinical, consultant, education and research psychology service to infants, children, young people, and their families within a multidisciplinary and professional team context, under the supervision of a Board approved clinical psychologist.

As a Clinical Psychologist Registrar at CAMHS, you will deliver quality psychological care within our service including the provision of psychological assessments, evidence based psychological interventions and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive clinical management and intervention planning.

Some Of Your Key Accountabilities Will Include


* Delivering evidence-based individual, dyadic, group intervention, including (but not limited to) dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, solution focused interventions.
* Conducting psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family functioning.
* Providing consultation, advice, and training on psychological matters to colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
* Engaging in professional development and supervision towards full registration.
* Maintaining client records, complying with guidelines for therapy and testing materials, and contributing to performance monitoring and improvement.

Your role will align with the WA Health Code of Conduct and CAHS's vision and values, ensuring a commitment to governance, integrity, safety, and quality in the delivery of healthcare services.

* Evidence of Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for full registration and Clinical Psychology Registrar status with the Psychology Board of Australia. (Essential Criteria 1).
* A written statement addressing Essential Criteria 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 per the Job Description Form in no more than 4 pages maximum.
* Provide the names and email contact details of two professional referees, they should be a current or previous (within the last 2 years) Line Manager. Please note we do not accept colleagues as a professional reference.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/08/2027.

About Our CAMHS Directorates

CAMHS is divided into four networks - North, South, East and Central. Within these networks there are a range of Community CAMHS Clinics and hubs, Specialised Services and day Programs and Acute (Central only) services:
* Community CAMHS Clinics - Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.
* Specialist Services and Day Programs - The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs.
* Acute CAMHS– Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children's Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team (PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.
