About the Role
In your role as a Health & Fitness CCO, you will be responsible for enhancing the components of fitness for the inmate population and is responsible for the management, supervision and care of inmates taking part in activities.
About You
You have an understanding of cardiovascular exercise, strength training and stretching, and a sound working knowledge of the human body and the benefits of a good health and fitness lifestyle.
You thrive in fast paced, complex and ever-changing environment, and can prioritise conflicting needs diplomatically whilst following through on actions and commitments. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional values in everything you do.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Demonstrate the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
Hold a Certificate IV in Fitness
Minimum of 12-months experience working as a Health & Fitness Instructor
Experience developing programs/activities to support health and fitness
A high level of resilience, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence
Work successfully with the greater team to maintain the safety and security of the centre
The ability to think on your feet, be alert and observant at all times and resolve practical problems
Ideally have an understanding of the needs of people from different ethnic, cultural and lifestyle backgrounds
A competent level of computer literacy and report writing
Proficient interpersonal and communications skills

About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia. Located on the beautiful NSW Mid-North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants and friendly community towns.
Rewards and Benefits
Initial Training Course (ITC) will be held over 7 weeks, Monday to Friday. Your hours will be 38 ordinary hours + additional hours paid at OT rates (Your training days will consist of long and a short day aligned to on site shift hours to prepare your for Shiftwork)
Transition to Shiftwork, 77 hours per fortnight, 11/12 hour shifts, 7 shifts per fortnight
Shiftwork ~ potential earnings for CO1 and CO2 below:
Correctional Case Officer Level 1 up to $61,602 gross pa, subject to shift pattern + Overtime
Base Hourly Wage Rates Includes:
Level 1 ~ Base Hourly Rate $ Penalties + Allowances + 17.5% Annual Leave Loading + 10.5% Superannuation
Penalty Rates Level 1 – CO1
Night Shift ~ $27.84
Saturday ~ $36.32
Sunday ~ $48.42
Public Holidays ~ $60.53
Correctional Case Officer Level 2 up to $68,400 gross pa, subject to shift pattern + Overtime
Base Hourly Wage Rates Includes:
Level 2 ~ Base Hourly Rate from $ Penalties + Allowances + 17.5% Annual Leave Loading + 10.5% Superannuation
Penalty Rates Level 2 – CO2
Night Shift ~ $30.90
Saturday ~ $40.31
Sunday ~ $53.75
Public Holidays ~ $67.18
