Join HappyCo and Make Work Happy !We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (Flutter) to join our team.The PositionAs a Senior Mobile Engineer specialising in mobile development, you will leverage your extensive experience building high-performance mobile applications to drive the growth of our customer-facing mobile experiences. As well as experience developing production applications using Flutter you will have a deep understanding of developing for mobile applications including mobile app architecture, memory management and battery efficiency, as well as applying state management patterns to optimise app performance.In addition to Mobile development the ideal candidate will have experience managing the overall app lifecycle including build pipelines, certificate management and app release through Mobile app stores. Experience in other cross-platform languages as well as native development experience would be an advantage but not essential.At HappyCo we empower our teams to solve problems in ways our customers and partners love and that work for our business. Working alongside Product Managers, Designers and Engineers you will help advance us along our technology roadmap, leveraging your experience to uplift the technical capability within our Engineering team. As a Senior Engineer you will help identify potential problems and risks in both the code and feature design and communicate these with your peers. You will be able to take moderately complex products and features and break down work into tasks and deliver them in collaboration with your team, ensuring that value can be delivered to customers early. Week by Week - During your first week you will:Setup your Development Environment and build an understanding of our application architecturePush your first Mobile change for review and deploymentGet to know our leadership, culture, and valuesFamiliarize yourself with our products, systems and toolsWeek by Week - During your first six weeks you will:Implement well structured code aligned to our product architecture and engineering principlesInteract with our customers and customer representatives, either directly or asynchronously, to build an understanding of their needs and to increase your domain knowledgeWork with your Product Team to solve customer problems that will progress you towards achieving your team outcomesAttend your first Company Wide Meeting (monthly)Week by Week - During your first six months you will:Continue to develop your knowledge and technical skills to grow your mobile engineering capabilityContribute to app architecture and application performance management discussionsParticipate in the app release process including building an understanding of our build pipeline and distribution processChampion our culture of transparency, success and happinessRequired Qualifications & Skills:Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor/Grad Dip. Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering, IT Certification or similar) or equivalent practical experienceAt least 5 years proven working experience in Mobile software developmentExperience building and releasing Mobile Applications including optimising app performance and managing the app release processSound understanding of mobile design and architectural patterns, and coding practicesDemonstrable experience in building solutions based on an understanding of your users and the objectives of the businessDemonstrable experience in taking complex solutions and breaking them into development iterations that provide early value to customersExperience with software development and quality processes, especially Agile development methodologiesPositive work attitude and a growth mindsetAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones (US and AUS) requiring effective asynchronous communicationDesirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience:Familiarity with Mobile Application development technologies e.g. Swift, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C, React-NativeFamiliarity with React, GoLang, GraphQLEExperience working in a B2B / SaaS / Agency environmentOur HappyCo Culture & BenefitsHappyCo strives to build better communities.
