About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and patient individual to join our inclusive school community. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing focused support to pupils with special educational needs, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-to-one support to children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning delays, and speech and language needs
* Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs and developing personalized learning plans
* Encouraging independence and social interaction through structured approaches
* Managing challenging behaviors sensitively and providing emotional support when needed
* Tracking progress and recording achievements to inform future planning
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
* A strong understanding of various SEN strategies, such as PECs, Makaton, sensory tools, or visual schedules
* Calm, empathetic, and patient demeanor with a strong sense of responsibility
* An up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registration (or willingness to apply)
