About The Role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Surgery within a Perioperative setting.
About The Role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Surgery within a Perioperative setting.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Endoscopy Surveillance and delivering expert nursing care in complex situations, while providing support and direction to other team members.
* Ability to prioritise clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads with proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
* Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
* Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate patient care and manage delegated resources including prioritising new or urgent referrals as well as surveillance requirements and supporting day-to-day changes.
* Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
* The Endoscopy Clinical Nurse for Surveillance is required to be multi skilled in various areas including independent patient clinical assessment and clinical decision making, have a thorough understanding and knowledge of Cancer Council Australia guidelines including Polyp Surveillance, a thorough knowledge of appropriate referral processes, as well as knowledge of, and an ability to use Excel Spreadsheet programs.
* The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a team environment.
Mandatory Requirements
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
