The Company Robert Half is partnering exclusively with Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) to appoint a Head of Information Technology at a pivotal stage of modernisation.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of IT will lead technology operations and uplift infrastructure, systems, and digital capability.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role with accountability for reliability, vendor performance, and team development, while setting the roadmap for long‑term improvement. You'll balance operational delivery with executive engagement across a complex, multi‑site environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational leadership across infrastructure, systems, and service delivery.
* Lead and develop the IT team, building capability, accountability, and a service-focused culture.
* Deliver a pragmatic multi‑year IT roadmap aligned to priorities, efficiency, and risk reduction.
* Oversee core business systems to ensure integration, reliability, and scalability.
* Strengthen governance and cybersecurity, embedding Essential Eight alignment and modern risk management.
* Manage key technology vendors and partners with clear SLAs, measurable performance, and commercial value.
* Drive improvement initiatives, including uplift of data, BI, and reporting capability.
* Partner with the CFO, Executive Team, and Board to translate technical strategy into business outcomes and investment priorities.
Requirements
* Leadership experience heading IT functions in complex, multi‑site organisations.
* Balance of strategic direction and operational delivery.
* Proven success in vendor management, contract negotiation, and third‑party governance.
* Cybersecurity capability with exposure to Essential Eight or similar frameworks.
* Experience delivering ERP, SaaS, or POS transformations.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise investments and demonstrate ROI.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, credible at Executive and Board level.
