The role
As part of our Defence Delivery Organisation, the Combat System Integration Engineer will develop the integration strategy and plan of activities. They will also design and develop combat system subsystem and integration and trials requirements, including those for integration and test facilities.
Further, the successful candidate will:
* In collaboration with subsystem leads review and validate combat system (CS) subsystem test and integration documentation and schedules
* Observe the conduct of CS subsystem integration activities and collate evidence to contribute to achievement of CS acceptance
* Provide subject matter expert support with respect to all aspects of integration and test to subsystem leads, including subcontractors
* Identify CS integration, test and trials safety and technical risks and propose mitigation actions
* Facilitate stakeholder interactions to achieve the objectives of the integration and test program.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
* Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline and/or relevant experience within the defence sector
* Four years as a systems engineer, preferably in defence projects and complex systems
* Systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools and techniques
* Working in an engineering project, multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the defence industry
* Working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals
* Development methodologies on complex systems using a documented process
* Working with combat system requirements within a maritime context (desirable)
* Excellent verbal and writing skills, including report and technical writing
* Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
* Strong ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or prioritiesExcellent initiative, self-motivation, pro-active and willingness to accept responsibility
* Friendly and approachable.
Applicants must be Australian citizens hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to at least NV1.
