This 12‐month maternity leave cover role focuses on supporting strategic market, client, and practice growth initiatives for our Real Estate practice, while also contributing to the broader Projects Group (Construction, Environment and Sustainable Development (ESD), Project Finance, and Energy). You will work closely with senior Clients & Markets professionals and collaborate with industry‐leading partners and lawyers to drive client engagement, identify new opportunities, and enhance the firm's brand and capabilities in a competitive legal market.
This highly sought‐after position offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to further develop your skills in the professional services sector while playing a key role in the growth and success of the Real Estate practice and the wider Projects Group.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with drafting and managing tenders, bids, proposals, capability statements, thought leadership projects, and fee‐earner profiles specific to Real Estate.
* Proactively supporting practice managers to identify, pursue, and convert client opportunities and other stream initiatives.
* Conducting market analysis and related research to identify trends and opportunities within the Real Estate sector.
* Collating and preparing firm directory and award submissions.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and manage client relationships across the Projects Group and the firm's strategic growth areas.
* Coordinating in‐house client seminar programs, including webinars and events.
* Developing a profile and credibility with internal stakeholders across the firm, actively promoting the Clients & Markets function, its expertise, and capabilities.
* Supporting other tasks as required by the Clients & Markets Manager.
* Training and working with younger members of the Clients & Markets team.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* 4+ years' experience in a business development, communications, or related role, ideally gained within a professional services/corporate environment.
* Tertiary qualification in marketing, law, communications or a similar business discipline.
* Strong experience in managing and drafting tenders and proposals.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio).
In addition, you will possess the following attributes:
* A natural ability to build rapport and relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong project and time management skills, including the ability to efficiently manage stakeholder expectations and competing deadlines.
* A positive, can‐do attitude with the ability and desire to work and collaborate within a dynamic team.
The Clients & Markets Team
The Clients & Markets team provides advice and services to the business across the full spectrum of marketing and business development initiatives – from brand awareness and design, media and communications, events, research and analysis, opportunity identification, pursuits and bid management to key client account management.
As a member of the Projects Group, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the Real Estate practice while contributing to the success of the broader Projects Group, which encompasses Construction, Environment and Sustainable Development (ESD), Project Finance, and Energy.
