The role of the Olives to Oil Project Coordinator is to assist the Community Food Systems Manager in delivering the annual Olives to Oil Festival, an event that brings people together from across Melbourne to harvest olives and have them pressed communally into delicious, local olive oil.
The program has expanded each year and in 2026 will be delivered both from CERES in Brunswick East and in the northern and western suburbs.
There will be opportunities to be involved in other CERES based events such as Winter Solstice as part of the role.
Where you come in
You will coordinate the event planning, site logistics and program schedule as well as handling community enquiries and overseeing delivery of the events on the day.
You will make an impact by:
* Delivering a successful program of events for CERES and our Council partners
* Supporting community members to avoid food waste by using an abundant local resource
* Creating meaningful connections for participants and volunteers by ensuring a welcoming and inclusive event

* Availability at weekends in May 2026
* Experience delivering community events and/or complex logistics operations
* Strong people skills and experience working with diverse communities
* Enthusiasm for urban agriculture and a fair food system
* Ability to collaborate and support casual staff and volunteers
* Flexibility and ability to work independently and take initiative
* Valid drivers licence and confident driving skills
* Valid Working With Children Check
