As a Youth Worker across Hervey Bay & Maryborough, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing direct care, guidance, and support to children and young people in out‐of‐home care. You'll help create safe, nurturing environments where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth work, understands the complexities of trauma and disadvantage, and is ready to be a positive role model in a young person's life.
What You'll Do
* Provide day‐to‐day care and support aligned with each young person's individual care plan.
* Build trusting relationships and implement age‐appropriate strategies to encourage positive behaviour.
* Facilitate meaningful activities that promote development, resilience, and wellbeing.
* Maintain accurate, professional documentation and reports.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Support culturally safe practices, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
* Transport young people safely in line with organisational and legal guidelines.

You are enthusiastic about the welfare of children and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. You are patient, trustworthy, resilient, flexible, humorous and naturally caring and positive.
To thrive in this role, you should enjoy daily interactions, possess effective communication, organisational, problem‐solving skills, cultural competence, crisis management, advocacy, and collaboration capabilities when liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Certificate III in Community Services (or equivalent experience).
* Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, or families in a community or care setting.
* Ability to work with young people who have emotional and psychological support needs.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Possession of or ability to obtain a National Police Check, Blue Card (Working with Children), and a Licensed Care Services (LCS).
