About this Opportunity
As a Remote Area Nurse (RAN), you will provide high‐quality, culturally appropriate nursing care for patients within a remote healthcare environment across community nursing, primary health care and emergency healthcare including out‐of‐hospital emergency transport. You will collaborate with RFDS's visiting primary healthcare teams (Medical Officers, Allied Health, Mental Health and Dental Teams) to ensure an integrated service approach, focusing on prevention and early intervention. You will utilise your knowledge of emergency response, patient triaging, population health, chronic disease management, culturally safe practice, and health promotion to deliver a comprehensive health service to remote South Australians.
These positions are based across:
* Innamincka – 1,174 km northeast of Adelaide
* Marree – 660 km northeast of Adelaide
* Marla – 970 km northwest of Adelaide
* Andamooka – 600 km northwest of Adelaide
About You
* A Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post‐qualification general nursing experience.
* Significant experience in providing primary health care/population health and/or emergency health services in remote Australia and/or rural Multi‐Purpose Health Service Facilities.
* A compassionate professional with a demonstrated understanding of the principles of Primary Health Care, community development and the social determinants of health.
* The ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
* An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with initiative, compassion and enthusiasm.
* Emotionally resilient and physically fit.
