Job Description
The Department of Industry, Science and Resources plays a pivotal role in the Australian Government's economic agenda.
As Assistant Director, you will be responsible for advancing understanding of the contribution of space to a productive, resilient and sustainable Australia in line with strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing media activities, including proactive and reactive opportunities/enquiries
* Speechwriting for senior executives as required
* Developing content and managing online platforms
* Procuring and project managing large scale booth presences at international trade shows and domestic conferences and festivals
* Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry and media organisations
This role requires highly developed verbal and written communication skills, as well as at least 7 years' experience in a communications, media or events role.
Additional requirements include:
* A demonstrated network of media contacts, including proven experience in landing mainstream media coverage
* Previous experience managing teams and navigating procurement processes
