About the opportunity
We are seeking a customer-focused Trade Sales Assistant to join a well-established team at their Toowoomba store. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role supporting a busy retail and trade environment that services customers across the region.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing knowledgeable service while promoting a wide range of gases, welding products, and safety equipment. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations, accurate order processing, and a high standard of customer care.
This opportunity would suit a mature-minded individual with previous customer service or sales experience who enjoys a hands-on, varied role.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships
• Phone and counter sales, including responding to email orders
• Promote and up-sell products, new initiatives, and solutions
• Merchandising and inventory management
• Check stock levels and assist with stocktakes
• Use SAP and internal systems for orders and enquiries
• Safe manual handling of gas cylinders, including loading into customer vehicles
• Provide front desk support and general store assistance
What You'll Need
• Previous experience in a sales and customer service environment
• Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service
• Willingness to learn new products, systems, and processes
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Confident computer skills, SAP experience advantageous
• Industrial, welding, or safety equipment knowledge highly regarded
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks
• Forklift licence advantageous, but not essential
