This organisation plays an important role in shaping outcomes that have a real and lasting impact for Australia. Their work spans policy, strategy, and program delivery, with a focus on solving complex problems and delivering results that matter to communities across the country.
The environment is fast-paced, professional, and highly collaborative. You will work alongside talented people who are committed to excellence and motivated by the purpose of their work.
The Opportunity
This EL1 role gives you the chance to step into a space where you can genuinely make the role your own. You will lead the development and delivery of training for the department's financial systems, including creating clear documentation and running sessions in person and online.
You will also have the opportunity to look ahead and consider how different technologies can support the way people learn and use these systems. There is plenty of variety, and as part of the broader team you will also support the financial systems helpdesk, giving you valuable insight into how the tools are used day to day.
This role is available as a permanent s26 transfer or a 12-month non-ongoing contract.
The Role
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Design and deliver financial systems training to staff, using both virtual and face-to-face formats
* Review and update training materials to reflect legislative and policy changes, while incorporating feedback
* Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including APS staff and training providers
* Work closely with subject matter experts to develop targeted and practical training solutions
* Maintain and update finance learning and development content on the department's intranet and portal
* Provide quality assurance for online materials and training-related communications to ensure clarity and consistency
* Contribute to short-term planning and support longer-term strategic initiatives that strengthen the department's learning approach
The Ideal Person
You are a qualified CA or CPA accountant with experience using SAP, both as a user and ideally in a system administration capacity. You are a natural communicator who enjoys presenting and explaining financial information clearly to a range of audiences. You might come from a management accounting background with some hands-on experience in financial systems and be looking to pivot into a new finance-related challenge while staying connected to finance.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be an Australian Citizen with an existing NV1 security clearance.
