POSITION AVALIABLE: CROPPING MANAGER
Bonney Downs Station is seeking an experienced Cropping Manager to join our team based in Warradarge, Western Australia. 10minutes from the coast at Greenhead and 2.5hours from Perth city. This is a full-time role that will play a pivotal part in the overall operations and success of the farm. As Cropping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property's cropping operations, ensuring efficient and sustainable farming practices are implemented.
About us
Bonney Downs Station is a large-scale, family-owned farming operation located in Western Australia. Two large cattle stations in the Pilbara support this business with cattle carted down for backgrounding on properties in the Mid-West. There are 4 farms at this location where wheat, canola, barley and oats are grown, with a large hay program to complement our cattle production.
What you'll be doing
* Manage the planning, implementation and monitoring of cropping activities across the farm
* Oversee crop selection, planting, fertilising, spraying and harvesting to maximise yields and profitability
* Liaise with agronomists and other experts to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices
* Ensure all farming activities comply with relevant legislation and industry standards
* Manage and develop the cropping team, providing guidance, training and performance feedback
* Monitor and report on cropping budgets, productivity and other key metrics
What we're looking for
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a cropping management role, preferably within a large-scale broadacre farming operation
* Demonstrated expertise in crop selection, soil management, pest and disease control, and sustainable farming practices
* Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making and stakeholder management skills
* Commercial acumen and the ability to interpret financial and operational data
* Good communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team
* Willingness to reside in the local Warradarge area
