In this role you will:
Clinical/Technical
• Provide high-level clinical services (including services of a more complex nature) within a correctional environment with a multidisciplinary team focus.
• Provide clinical consultation, discipline specific interventions and assessment, including assessments of harm to self or others.
• Develop and contribute to the review of behavioural support and management plans
• Operate independently with minimal direct clinical supervision to provide a highquality clinical service, including the ability to exercise professional judgement in solving problems and managing complex situations.
• Act as an expert resource for other staff, facilitating the development of critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills including providing clinical practice supervision.
• Be accountable for own professional development, maintaining clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities including clinical practice supervision.
• Maintain own registration and accreditation for professional specific requirements including Board Supervision (where relevant).
• Commit to professional practice by ensuring self and team members work within scope of practice and maintain professional competency.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and sentence and case management activities.
Service Improvement
• Promote a supportive environment and a willingness to share knowledge through active learning with staff, including graduates and students.
• Contribute to the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of clinical care and discipline specific services.
Leadership, Collaboration and Work Unit Management
• Assist the Team Leader with the provision of clinical advice, allocation of tasks and onboarding of staff, including recruitment activities.
• Act as an expert resource for other staff, facilitating the development of critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills including providing clinical practice supervision.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and sentence and case management activities.
• Support collaborative partnerships with relevant internal and external and stakeholders, including Psychological Services Unit and Queensland Health.
