Your new role
In Portland, early learning and after-school care aren't just services they're an important part of the community. As a casual educator, you'll help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn, whether they're taking their first steps into kinder or winding down after a busy schoolday.
You'll be part of a shared casual pool across Bundarra Kindergarten and Portland North Primary OSHC. You'll have opportunities to pick up casual work across the week, giving you flexibility and variety, while staying connected to one local team.
This role can suit educators at different stages of life, whether you're studying, returning to the sector, easing into semi-retirement, or simply looking for flexible hours that fit around other commitments. Even a few regular shifts a week can make a big difference to our children and families.

Whether you're experienced or just starting out.
You have an energetic, positive approach to working with children and can help create a safe, fun environment. You're a team player who can build warm relationships with children, families and colleagues.
You are (or are willing to be)
* Working With Children Check-ready
* First aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma trained (we can support you to obtain this).
If you are a qualified Early Childhood Educator with a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent) you can pick up shifts across both Kindergarten and OSHC programs in Portland.
If you are starting your career in Early Childhood Services, you can begin working in OSHC if you:
* hold an approved alternative qualification e.g. Bachelor of Arts, Science, or a Diploma of Community Services, (check your qualification here) or
* are willing to commence an approved qualification within 3 months of starting.
Once you complete your qualification, you'll be eligible to work across both Kindergarten and OSHC services in Portland.
