The Opportunity
The Parts Manager – Gladstone is responsible for managing the parts department, delivering a high level of service to our customers by supplying spare parts to the end user within a reasonable timeframe. The role involves overseeing team management focusing on safety, expense, freight control, and customer support in line with the Komatsu customer support charter.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote a safe and efficient work environment by performing a feel safety and 5S audit quarterly and actioning any non-conformance.
* Manage the customer relationship with Komatsu Gladstone by attending monthly site meetings with customers and performing routine visits at least quarterly to customers with smaller fleets.
* Apply a disciplined approach to expense control by looking for areas to reduce unnecessary spend and reviewing all expense accounts monthly.
* Develop a culture of training and development for the team by mentoring and coaching individuals along with formal development training.
* Promote best practice in the warehouse by maintaining stock integrity and picking accuracy by working with the warehouse supervisor to ensure all procedures are followed.
* Manage monthly KPIs for the parts department by reviewing the monthly parts dashboard and having items actioned as required.
* Seek opportunities for incremental sales by developing sales plans and marketing strategies.
* Actively participate in gaining team engagement for new initiatives that are being rolled out for the branch and department.

What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in management of a parts department.
* Well-developed numeracy, written, and oral communication skills.
* Ability to analyze and forecast sales performance to implement business improvement strategies and prepare budgets.
* Appropriate demeanor for communicating with customers at a senior level and providing a professional service.
* Proven experience in inventory control and warehouse systems.
* Above average level of expertise with both mainframe and personal computers.
* Well-developed time management skills and a demonstrated commitment to a high standard of presentation and accuracy.
* Appropriate demeanor for supervising, assisting, and training staff to create a positive team atmosphere.
* Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of parts and accessories, the supply chain, and logistics of operating a trade distribution system.
Qualifications
Diploma in Management (or similar).
