Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
You will provide comprehensive patient care to patients in our Oncology Centre, working alongside various clinicians providing cancer treatment, including oncology, haematology, and palliative care. Our centre operates from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, specialising in oncology/haematology and medical infusions.
St John of God Geelong Hospital offers a comprehensive range of acute services to the rapidly growing coastal city. The modern hospital features a 24/7 accident and emergency department, a surgical program supported by a 12-bed critical care unit, and expanding cardiology, medical, rehabilitation, and cancer services.
The Position
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
Promote effective communication, facilitating teamwork within the department and hospital.
Provide patient education and serve as a resource where appropriate.
Support and supervise staff and students, including orientation and preceptoring.
Contribute to achieving hospital and clinical service operational objectives.
You must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, with recent oncology experience, and demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction. Well-developed interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities are essential.
Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, along with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Above all, patients will be at the core of everything you do, supporting our Mission and Values.
The Benefits
Salary ranging from $68,093 to $96,175 (pro-rata for part-time), plus 11.5% superannuation.
Permanent part-time positions, up to 60 hours per fortnight.
