Bogger Operator - Join our Tanami underground operation, supporting safe and efficient underground production activities.
Location
Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. This long‐life, low‐cost asset will expand to increase production from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site.
Reporting
Reporting to the Underground Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate underground loaders to clear blasted material from stopes and drawpoints.
* Maintain pace with the mining cycle while adhering to approved safe work procedures.
* Ensure roadways remain clean, smooth, and to design grade.
* Conduct bogging activities in line with development and production requirements.
* Maintain a clean loading area and manage spillages promptly.
* Follow oversized rock handling procedures where required.
* Participate in pre‐start and PASS meetings prior to shift commencement.
* Complete equipment and area inspections, ensuring compliance with Newmont standards.
* Safely operate and maintain equipment per plant and maintenance procedures.
* Identify and report defects, hazards, and equipment issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate shift reporting.
* Ensure adequate ventilation and safe working conditions at all times.
Safety & Environmental Accountability
* Demonstrate strong commitment to safety leadership and compliance.
* Follow all safety systems, procedures, and hazard control measures.
* Actively participate in safety initiatives such as SafeChecks, JHAs, and hazard observations.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across all work areas.
* Stop work where conditions are unsafe and escalate appropriately.
* Take personal accountability for safety and contribute to a positive safety culture.
About You
Proactive and safety‐focused operator with demonstrated underground mining experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Proven experience in underground mining.
* Demonstrated bogging experience in underground operations.
* Remote bogging experience is highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety requirements.
