Yulong Stud is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Gardener to join our team at our prestigious stud farm in Nagambie, Victoria.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who enjoy working as part of a team, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and bring relevant experience to the role. The successful candidate will have a background in either gardening or general farm/property maintenance, with the ability to operate independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* General Lawn care, which includes edging, mowing, fertilisation, snipping and re-seeding and overseeding.
* Trimming bushes and plants according to horticultural best practices.
* Providing standard care to shrubs, Lillypilly's and hedges.
* Conducting pruning and hedging, including hedging to desired shapes.
* Carrying out manual watering including the maintenance and operation of fixed watering systems.
* Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all external areas including paths and hard surfaces.
* Ensuring the Yulong grounds you are responsible for, and surrounds are kept clean and tidy.
* Landscape and establish new areas and gardens as required.
* Weed grounds and gardens as required.
* Ensuring the maintenance of all gardening equipment you use.
* Comply with all workplace health and safety and equal employment opportunity initiatives to contribute to a safe, healthy, equitable and ethical workplace.
* Work in accordance with management directions.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in gardening, groundskeeping or property maintenance.
* Knowledge of plant and lawn care, and the relevant seasonal maintenance.
* Understanding irrigation systems, including maintenance and seasonal adjustments.
* Ability to operate relevant gardening equipment safely.
* Experience with weed and pest control in compliance with chemical safety regulations.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and demonstrate sound problem-solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication and time management.
* Self-Motivated, reliable, and professional in manner.
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on presentation and property standards.
* Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
* Full driver's licence.
