Overview

Protect Council assets. Shape safe, compliant development. We're seeking a confident and detail oriented Asset Protection Supervisor to ensure building and development activities align with Council standards and regulations. We're looking for an experienced and community minded Asset Protection Supervisor to join our Municipal Laws, Public Assets & Emergency Management team. In this role, you'll oversee works carried out by service authorities, builders and developers to make sure Banyule's roads, drains and other public assets are protected and reinstated to a high standard. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in procedures and community awareness of asset protection standards.

What You'll Do

* Inspect Council's assets prior to the commencement of building works undertaken with a building/planning permit.
* Assess, administer and issue Works Within Road Reserve Consent (Consent for Works) applications in accordance with the Road Management Act upon submission.
* Determine service authority asset alignments in association with major service upgrades.
* Adhere to and comply with the requirements of the Road Management Act, Community Local Law 2025 and Road Management Plan.

What You'll Bring / What We Are Looking For

* A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant Asset Protection experience.
* Experience in the supervision or project management of contract works, ideally in a civil construction or local government context.
* Strong knowledge of civil construction requirements, roads and drainage, and a working understanding of the Local Government Act, local laws and related regulations.
* Ability to communicate effectively and confidently, both verbally and in writing to consult and negotiate successful outcomes with contractors, service authorities, residents and other staff.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including previous experience in working as part of a team.

Pre-employment Requirements

* Current Victorian Drivers Licence
* Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
* White card

What We Offer

* A permanent full-time position, with a monthly RDO.
* Salary $80,897.37 - $93,686.65 per annum plus super

* 26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer / 4 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
