What we are looking for
BME Australia is looking for a motivated individual to join our close-knit electronic detonator manufacturing team based residentially in Kalgoorlie WA. The trainee role will see you learning the full automated production process, stock control and the management of raw materials and finished products. BME is looking for someone who wants to grow their career within the explosives sector and is willing and able to commit to building their skill set through on the job learning and nationally recognised vocational training.
Key responsibilities:
* Operate machines within production area according to work instructions and safe work procedures
* Ensure compliance with relevant safety and occupational legislation and regulations in the execution of work.
* Troubleshooting automation plant and equipment, clearing errors
* Operating within the company safety and quality guidelines.
* Carrying out QA/QC testing on finished products.
* Compiling production and quality reports.
* Safe manual handling of explosives
* Assisting with updating and auditing site registries to ensure compliance
* Working with D365 ERP software, GearBelt and other systems and software
About you:
* Ability and willingness to complete a Certificate III in Process Manufacturing
* Current Dangerous Goods License (WA) or the ability to meet the criteria to obtain including medical and police check.
* Strong reading and writing skills who enjoys practical hands-on work
* Ability and willingness to confidently work hazardous materials in a safe and compliant manner
* High aptitude with technology
* Ability to operate plant and equipment safely
* Possession of an unrestricted driver's license
* Forklift ticket or ability and willingness to obtain same
* Team player who is keen to continually learn
* An ability to stay self-motivated and work autonomously
* A commitment to workplace health, safety and the wellbeing of yourself and team
* Currently resides locally in the Kalgoorlie area
* Competent in the Microsoft office suite (Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Excel)
We are looking for a team member who is driven to operate in a fast-paced environment, with the aptitude and attitude to learn quickly and support the team to achieve productivity targets. This role is designated for Kalgoorlie locals only as current roster is Monday to Friday.
