VISNA T MANAGEMENT PTY LTD is currently seeking a dedicated and hands-on Nurseryperson to join our team at one of our commercial nursery locations across regional Victoria.
As a Nurseryperson, you will be responsible for the propagation, care, and preparation of plants for distribution. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and passionate about horticulture, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Skill Requirements
A Certificate IV in horticulture or a related field,
Or
Certificate III
in horticulture or a related field with two years of relevant on-the-job experience.
At least three years of experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing potting media and containers prior to planting
Selecting seeds, bulbs, and cuttings and planting them in beds, lawn areas, tubs, or containers
Budding and grafting vegetative material onto rootstock for propagation
Watering plants manually and managing automatic irrigation systems
Applying pesticides, herbicides, and nutrients to prevent or treat pests, diseases, and environmental disorders
Keeping accurate records of soil mixtures, plantings, treatments, losses, and yields
Selecting and packaging plants for sale, delivery, or distribution
Advising customers on plant care, maintenance, and suitable species for local conditions
Assisting in planning sales area layouts and visual merchandising presentations (Optional)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
A strong work ethic and a passion for plant care and propagation
The ability to work independently and follow detailed horticultural procedures
Good physical fitness, with the ability to carry out manual labour and outdoor work
High attention to detail, particularly when monitoring plant health and pest control
Good communication and customer service skills
Previous nursery or horticultural experience (preferred but not essential)
