The ADMS Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) projects for utilities. This role ensures successful implementation of ADMS solutions to improve grid reliability, outage management, and distribution network optimization while meeting timelines, budget, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
* Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and milestones
* Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
* Manage end-to-end ADMS project lifecycle (initiation to closure)
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams
* Coordinate with utility stakeholders including operations, IT, and engineering teams
* Conduct regular status meetings and updates
ADMS Implementation Oversight
* Lead deployment of ADMS functionalities such as:
* Outage Management System (OMS)
* Distribution SCADA
* Fault location, isolation, and service restoration (FLISR)
* Ensure alignment with utility business processes
System Integration
* Oversee integration with:
* GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
* AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure)
* Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies
* Develop mitigation and contingency plans
Budget & Financial Management
* Track project costs and ensure delivery within approved budget
* Manage contracts, procurement, and vendor performance
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with utility standards and regulations (IEEE, NERC, IEC, etc.)
* Maintain quality assurance throughout project execution
* Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, developers, and consultants
* Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance monitoring
Reporting & Documentation
* Provide regular updates on project progress, KPIs, and risks
* Maintain project documentation and governance artifacts
