X2 Full time, 6-month fixed term opportunities Great opportunity to join The University of Sydney’s Human Resources function Base Salary $89,755 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Payroll Officer will be responsible for a broad range of data entry and payroll related activities which will contribute to efficient payroll operations and service delivery. You will respond to enquiries and maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with procedures, policies and legislation. Your key responsibilities will be to: provide a broad range of payroll related activities, for all University staff, including but not limited to new starter system entries, terminations, allowances and loadings, casual timesheets, tax details, etc perform a broad range of payroll reconciliations including but not limited to Long Service Leave, redundancies, severance payments, sick leave, workers compensation, over and underpayments. respond to queries from University staff that relate to payroll matters that are not able to be resolved by the Contact Centre interpret awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime, shift allowances, etc work as part of the payroll team with a strong focus on providing assistance to team members to ensure deadlines are met maintain accurate records and e filing. About you previous experience in payroll administration experience in interpreting and applying legislation and enterprise agreements demonstrated experience in a high volume customer service environment previous experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures excellent and communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and facilitate discussions Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
