What You'll Do: Reporting to Group Manager – Transport Safety, the Driver Trainer plays a key role in the induction, training and familiarisation of new and existing drivers, including equipment and in-cab technology.
We have over **** drivers working at over 65 depots and branches Australia wide.
Based at our Sydney or Melbourne depot and working as part of a close-knit team supporting our 24/7 operations, flexibility is required to engage with drivers across different shifts, including ad hoc weekends.
Travel to other sites may be required as needed.
Key Responsibilities: Mentor and train drivers on the safe operation and maintenance of heavy vehicles Deliver inductions, refresher training, assessments and updates Provide guidance on road rules and safe driving practices Manage driver compliance documentation to support daily operations Assist with pre-employment driver assessments Ensure all licences, training records and required documentation are current Review and update driver training and onboarding materials What You'll Bring: Current and valid MC licence Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Extensive heavy vehicle driving experience, including multi-combinations Strong knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) Sound understanding of load restraint, weight distribution, dangerous goods, work diaries and vehicle maintenance Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (desirable) Forklift licence (desirable) To be successful, you must: Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment, including drug and alcohol testing Be flexible to work ad hoc shifts and weekends as required Be willing to travel interstate when needed What We Offer: Career development opportunities in a growing organisation.
