Overview
A co-educational Catholic high school serving the Albion Park area with an enrolment of approximately 736 pupils. Location: St Joseph's Catholic High School, Albion Park.
Position
A temporary part time position commencing 27 January 2026 until 17 December 2026. This position exists to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching within a Catholic school context and will require working collaboratively with teachers to support a class of students who meet the criteria for a multicategorical setting. The successful applicant will be involved in working with individual students, groups of students or a whole class and fulfilling related administration duties.
Essential Criteria
Experience working with students with disability such as students on the autism spectrum, students with intellectual disability and students who display difficult behaviours.
Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely and deal sensitively, effectively and positively with students and parents/carers.
A professional approach to working in a team.
Ability to assist in the implementation of Personalised Plans for students.
Good written and oral communication skills
An ability to work under limited direction.
Desirable Selection Criteria
Qualifications related to Special Needs Students and/or Certificate III In Education Support (Teachers Aide Special) or equivalent;
Good understanding of mathematics and numeracy.
Information technology skills including knowledge of assistive technologies for students with disabilities.
Word processing skills with proficiency in MS Office applications, and Google Docs.
Toileting, washing and dressing of students with a disability, if required.
Qualifications
Certificate III in Classroom Support or equivalent qualifications or an understanding and ability to work with students with a range of diverse needs (including students with a mild-moderate intellectual disability, and/or Autism, and/or other disability, that require intensive specialised interventions).
Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
Working with Children Clearance
This role is classified as a child-related work and therefore a working with children clearance is required prior to your commencement with us.
