Female Driver-Personal Assistant (Carer) for Wheelchair User
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (B44)
Part-Time | Flexible Hours | Immediate Start- Rate of Pay: £12.50 per hour
Female-only role in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
Applicants must be 25+ and have a full, clean UK driving licence to be able to drive my vehicle.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, and reference checks.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as unfortunately this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Main Responsibilities (which may vary day to day)
As I have a physical disability this role can be slightly more demanding than some standard PA/carer roles, which applicants should keep in mind when applying for the role.
I need support with many of the more physically demanding parts of daily living such as, cooking, shopping, laundry, household tasks, prescriptions, and phone calls.
Lifting parcels upstairs for me, securing my wheelchair in my WAV vehicle and taking me on appointments/trips.
Accompany me to visit my daughter, and any leisure activities.
Be present for medical appointments, social outings, offering thoughtful companionship.
Maintain a person-centred approach, safeguarding dignity, privacy, and emotional wellbeing
More About the Role
Must Be a quick learner.
Shifts are normally between 3 - 5 hours in length.
There is flexibility to negotiate your working days.
Some weekend work required.
Any training is provided
No prior care experience necessary, but a sincere interest in supporting disabled adults is essential and a good attitude is key.
Be relatively strong and physically fit to help me with day-to-day tasks.
Have a good level of written and spoken English.
Be Calm, capable, and emotionally aware; able to work independently and take initiative.
Be Discreet and mindful—no job-related social media use.
Have a Strong sense of safety and common-sense awareness of surroundings.
Maintain a person-centred approach, safeguarding dignity, privacy, and emotional wellbeing.
Respectful of privacy, autonomy, and the emotional realities of support work.
