About this opportunity
To support the delivery of immediate, medium and long-term recovery and resilience activities for disaster-impacted communities in the Scenic Rim, by assisting with community-led planning, engagement and collaboration across sectors. The role provides a consistent, on-the-ground presence to identify local strengths, needs and opportunities and to assist in building community capacity, promoting sustainable development and encouraging disaster preparedness through practical community engagement and program delivery. The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council's offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.

* Implement community engagement and development activities that support human and social recovery.
* Maintain a consistent presence across affected communities to identify needs, priorities and opportunities.
* Deliver community programs, events and workshops that enhance local recovery and resilience.
* Assist in the facilitation of community networks and partnerships to support recovery outcomes.
* Support the coordination of local recovery and resilience activities, ensuring alignment with broader strategic plans.
About you…
* Proven experience in human services, disaster management, community development, or a related human services field with demonstratable experience from multiple engagements.
* Strong administrative and reporting capability, with proficiency in the use of business software packages and computer systems including Microsoft 365, Guardian Incident Management System (IMS) software and an ability to acquire skills in Council software and systems.
* Proven ability to manage time and workload to meet deadlines and objectives.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with disaster-impacted communities and stakeholders, write clear and complex reports, and confidently deliver presentations and community programs.
* Ability to prepare and work within budgets.
