Managers & Administrative Officers Grade 7 (HS7)

We are seeking an experienced and values‑led Director Health, Safety and Wellbeing to provide strategic leadership and drive a proactive, integrated approach to workforce safety and wellbeing across the organisation.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for setting direction, influencing culture and ensuring our people are supported to work safely, sustainably and at their best. Reporting to the Executive Director People and Culture, the Director Health, Safety and Wellbeing will:
* Provide strategic leadership for health, safety and wellbeing across a complex healthcare environment
* Lead the development and implementation of a contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy aligned to organisational priorities
* Oversee governance, assurance and risk management for workplace health and safety, injury management and staff wellbeing
* Partner with executives, senior leaders and clinical leaders to embed safety and wellbeing as core leadership responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high‑performing Health, Safety and Wellbeing team
* Drive continuous improvement through data, insight and evidence‑based practice
* Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and accreditation requirements
* Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive and Board on emerging risks, trends and workforce wellbeing issues

Preferred Candidate
* Extensive senior leadership experience in health, safety and wellbeing, ideally within healthcare or a similarly complex environment
* Demonstrated experience developing and delivering organisation‑wide safety and wellbeing strategies
* Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and governance frameworks
* Experience influencing senior leaders and embedding safety and wellbeing into everyday leadership practice
* Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and change leadership skills
* A values‑driven approach, with a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing and psychological safety
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, safety, wellbeing or a related discipline (post‑graduate qualifications are desirable)
Vaccination Requirement
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
