Fire Safety Officer

SALARY: $100,738 - $115,439 per annum + Super + Leaseback vehicle

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570

Camden Council are looking for Fire Safety Officer to join our Building Certification team. This position will see you contributing to the delivery of growth in the local government area through professional development & certification assessment.

Essential:

* An Advanced Diploma, Associate Diploma or Tertiary qualifications as a Building Surveyor with a training institution listed in Schedule 2 - Qualifications and experience of the NSW Building and Development Certifiers Regulation 2020.
* Registered with the NSW Office of Fair Trading as a Building Surveyor - all classes of buildings (unrestricted) with experience in Class 1b and 2-9 building assessment.
* A full working knowledge of the National Construction Code - Building Code of Australia.
3 years of relevant practical experience in assessing applications for Class 1b & 2-9 buildings.
* Broad and specific understanding of EPA Act, 1979, Building & Development Certifiers Act, 2018; Swimming Pool Act 1992, Local Government Act, 1993, & associated Regulations as they apply to these Acts,
* Proven ability in effective written and oral communication
* Demonstrated ability to review processes and procedures and to improve service delivery,
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
* Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WH&S and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times;
* High level customer service skills.

Desirable:

* Experience in a supervisory role.
* Experience in group presentations.
