The Opportunity: HR Administration Support with Real-World Impact

As our HR Administration Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting staff development through a range of HR workforce activities, such as accurate record‐keeping, timely processing of HR transactions and consistent application of HR policies, procedures and compliance requirements. This vital role ensures our workforce is equipped to deliver GEO's Continuum of Care philosophy.

Your Key Impact Areas
As the HR Administration Support Officer, you will gain diverse, hands‐on experience across the full HR spectrum. You'll be exposed to various stages of the Employee Lifecycle, from Recruitment and Onboarding, through to Compliance Reporting and Governance.
Recruitment & Onboarding
* Provide support to the Recruitment Coordinator with end‐to‐end administrative tasks for recruitment processes, including advertising, scheduling interviews, pre‐employment checks and documentation.
* Prepare employment contracts, onboarding packs, uniforms and system entries for new starters.
* Liaise with the Learning & Development Administrative Support Officer to ensure the timely delivery of induction programs, ensuring accurate attendance records and completion of mandatory requirements.
* Maintain candidate files and ensure compliance with privacy and security standards.
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Administration
* Process employee lifecycle changes including promotions, transfers, secondments, extensions, resignations and terminations.
* Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and document management systems.
* Prepare letters, forms and templates in line with GEO policies, procedures, the Enterprise Agreement and Common Law Contracts.
* Support probation tracking, performance review cycles and compliance reporting.
* Support the Payroll Coordinator with payroll administration tasks.
* Monitor the various HR‐related mailboxes, responding to queries where appropriate, or escalating to the appropriate Coordinator or Human Resources Manager.
Compliance, Reporting & Governance
* Ensure all HR processes align with legislation, contractual obligations, GEO policies and operating instructions.
* Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining accurate records.
* Generate routine HR reports as required (e.g., headcount, turnover, training compliance, recruitment activity).
Employee Experience & Team Support
* Provide timely, professional customer service to staff and managers.
* Support HR projects, engagement initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive and values‐driven team culture.

Is This You? Your Essential Skills for Success
* Demonstrated experience in HR administration, payroll support or a related administrative role
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high‐volume environment.
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS or payroll systems.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated alignment with GEO's values, including safety, respect, integrity and rehabilitation‐focused practice
Desirable
* Certificate IV Business Administration, HR or related discipline.
* Knowledge of HR legislation, industrial instruments and compliance frameworks.
* Experience in corrections, emergency services, healthcare or other regulated environments

Note: This role is situated within a correctional setting and will involve direct contact with prisoners. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is mandatory.
