About the Role
This is a pivotal position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals, with priority consideration given to those who meet the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
Ongoing, full-time opportunity in Sunshine offers an engaging experience working with the Aboriginal Community. The role involves:
* Conducting risk assessments to reduce reoffending rates
* Preparing case plans to address underlying causes of offending
* Providing interventions and addressing court order obligations
The unique aspect of this role lies in its responsibility to develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal offenders and collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks to strengthen case management.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
* Knowledge of case management processes and frameworks
* Ability to build relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other entities that support the case management process
* Sensitivity and effective communication skills when interacting with the Victorian Aboriginal Community
* Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and its social and cultural issues
