The Role This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary or Administrator to take on a vital role in our practice. Working under the guidance of our Practice Team Leader, you will be a linchpin of the administrative team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Patient and Front Office Management: Managing all aspects of reception, including handling a busy phone system, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries with the highest level of professionalism. Surgical Bookings: Coordinating all details for theatre bookings, which includes liaising with referrers, hospitals, anaesthetists, and other surgical team members. Financial Communications: Confidently discuss financial matters with patients, process payments, and ensure all billing information is accurate. Clinic Preparation: Fully preparing for all consulting sessions, including compiling patient lists, preparing patient files, and ensuring all necessary documentation is ready. General Administration: Performing data entry, managing patient records, and ensuring all follow-up actions are completed promptly. Key Skills and Attributes: Proven Experience: You have demonstrated experience working as a Medical Secretary or Administrator, ideally within a busy specialist practice. Exceptional Organisation: You are highly organised with impeccable attention to detail (this is critical for the role). Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to supporting your colleagues and the leadership structure. Flexibility: This role requires a willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including some early starts (8:00 AM) and late finishes (6:00 PM). We can offer a nine-day fortnight or other flexible arrangements for the right candidate. Resilience: You perform well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a fast-paced setting. Communication Excellence: You have well-developed communication skills and are comfortable liaising with patients, doctors, and other medical professionals.
