Our client is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join them on a 3-month temporary contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager Commercial, the Commercial Manager plays a key role in driving the effective management of existing commercial arrangements while identifying and developing new, high-value opportunities. This position is responsible for building strong relationships, leading complex negotiations, and delivering innovative supply chain solutions for our client's customers.
About the Role
As Commercial Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring commercial contracts are robust, commercially sound, and aligned to business objectives. You will work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders across the maritime and logistics sectors, contributing to long-term strategic outcomes and enhancing customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish, manage, and optimise commercial contracts, ensuring all agreements are supported by appropriate documentation and governance.
* Lead complex contract negotiations with key external stakeholders, including stevedores, towage service providers, container park operators, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customers.
* Monitor, analyse, and continuously improve commercial performance, reporting on key metrics to drive consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency.
* Oversee contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance, performance, and value delivery.
* Develop and execute customer relationship strategies that strengthen partnerships and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
* Identify opportunities to enhance commercial outcomes and drive value across the supply chain.
About You
You are a commercially astute professional with a strong track record in contract negotiation and stakeholder engagement. You thrive in complex environments and bring a strategic mindset to delivering value and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualification or 6–8 years' experience in a similar role.
* Extensive experience managing senior-level stakeholder relationships.
* Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex commercial contracts.
* Experience operating within a commercial or customer-focused environment.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to optimise value and drive improvements.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
* In-depth understanding of contract management and commercial principles.
