About the Role
As the HR Business Partner, you will act as a trusted adviser to leaders across academic and professional areas, providing both strategic and operational HR support. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to understand their priorities and deliver tailored initiatives that uplift capability, support effective workforce planning, and drive organisational performance.
This is a highly influential role where you will contribute to key People & Culture initiatives, provide expert coaching, and help shape HR policies and practices that align with the companies strategic direction. You'll be part of a collaborative P&C team committed to service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Build strong, proactive relationships with leaders to understand workforce needs and deliver bespoke HR solutions.
Partner with leaders on complex people matters, including performance, change management, organisational design, workforce planning, and workplace relations.
Provide expert advice on employment agreements, policies, legislation and HR best practice.
Support and coordinate key People & Culture initiatives and projects.
Analyse people data and trends, developing early‑intervention strategies relating to absenteeism, excess leave, complaint management and more.
Collaborate with specialist HR teams including Workplace Relations, Talent, People Operations, and Organisational Learning.
Influence culture and behavioural change through practical coaching and people-focused guidance.
Represent People & Culture on relevant committees and working groups.
Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of HR processes, strategies, and operational plans.
About You
You are a proactive, solutions-focused HR professional who enjoys working autonomously while contributing strongly to a team environment. You build trust quickly, communicate with influence, and bring strong judgement to complex HR matters.
To be successful, you will have:
A relevant postgraduate qualification and significant HR and/or IR experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, enterprise agreements, HR policies and contemporary people practices.
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven ability to manage high work volumes, competing priorities and complex casework.
Effective stakeholder engagement capability with experience influencing across all organisational levels.
Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience presenting information and advising leaders with confidence and clarity.
Desirable:
Experience in strategic workforce planning
Demonstrated change management experience
3–5+ years in HR Business Partnering
