About the Role
This role will provide evidence based best-practice assessment, formulation, and intervention for a wide range of mental health disorders and other systemic barriers preventing clients from entering employment or beginning study. You will be supporting our customers to address their non-vocational barriers and develop their skills and job readiness. The role may also involve delivery of training relevant to the field, and consultancy with other service providers.
To be successful in this role you will have Degree level qualifications in a relevant field (Counselling or Social Work). You must be able to demonstrate experience in delivering a wide range of therapeutic interventions and a high level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in providing counselling and short-term intervention to customers with complex needs.
The role is based at our Geraldton site.
Flexible part-time hours and Hybrid/WFH options available. For the full time role, you'll experience a work/life balance with 9 day fortnight and a dedicated day off every second week.
About You
To be successful in the role you will be able to:
* Demonstrate competence in the application of a wide range of therapeutic interventions to consumers with complex needs;
* Demonstrate experience in building positive interpersonal and external relationships with staff and other agencies;
* Prove your experience in delivering 1:1 counselling intervention with clients and the ability to problem solve complex presenting co-morbidities;
* Deliver group training and psychoeducation relevant to the field;
* Demonstrate your ability to work as an independent practitioner and as an effective team member across multiple sites and teams;
* Demonstrate excellent time management and administration skills and a high level of computer literacy;
* Demonstrate your ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers and staff;
* Prove your ability to employ a range of strategies to effectively resolve conflict;
* Show sound understanding of available mental health and other support services.
You will also be required to:
* Hold a current driver's licence;
* Have a minimum Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or Mental Health Counselling;
* Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (SA staff only).
