Male Disability Support Worker (Immediate Start)
Little Blue Wren Services is a dedicated and innovative NDIS Registered disability service provider. We are leading the way across New South Wales and Queensland in delivering ‘Next Generation Disability supports’.
The Role
Due to rapid expansion across NSW, particularly in the Southern Highlands Region, Little Blue Wren Services is seeking forward-thinking, articulate, creative, and enthusiastic Male Disability Support Workers who are passionate about supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting individuals to live the life they want
* Helping clients learn the skills they need to live independently
* Encouraging, supporting, and teaching clients to participate in community groups, social events, sporting teams, employment, and leisure activities
* Providing respectful personal care, safe manual handling, and assisting with medication administration
* Working under guidance from clients and their families within the NDIS Code of Conduct and company policies
* Flexibly working during days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to client needs
* Understanding and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities
* Building capacity in daily living skills to promote independence
* Communicating effectively with clients and their networks
* Collaborating openly and honestly with clients and the Little Blue Wren Services team
* Possessing experience in data collection and shift reporting
* Implementing recommendations from Behaviour Support and Care Plans
* Following designated responsibilities and overcoming challenges with creative strategies
* Maintaining a strong understanding of NDIS standards and codes of conduct
Prerequisites
* Experience working with clients with complex needs and behaviours
* Experience with clients who have trauma, ABI, TBI, ASD, ADHD, or mental health conditions
* Experience in delivering personal care
* Competency in language, literacy, and numeracy
* NDIS Worker Screening approval
* Medication Administration, First Aid, and Seizure Management training (or willingness to obtain)
* Current Working with Children Check or equivalent
* National Driver’s Licence
